An Arizona woman who was jailed on drug smuggling charges spoke with CNN on Wednesday night.

Yanira Maldonado told the network she is relying on her Mormon faith to get through the ordeal.

“Reading the scriptures, reading the Book of Mormon, praying, fasting,” she told CNN. “And all the support that I’ve been getting from my family, my husband, my children, and everybody out there reaching out to help.”

Maldonado said that she has never done anything illegal.

Last week, Maldonado was arrested and accused of transporting nearly 12 pounds of marijuana on a bus. She and her husband were heading back from a funeral in Mexico.

We want to hear from you.
