A Canadian man found a 3.5-inch-long knife blade that had been lodged in his back since 2010.
According to Gawker, Bill McNeely, 32, was stabbed five times after his birthday party’s arm-wrestling contest went way beyond its original intentions. McNeely said that doctors never had his wounds X-rayed.
McNeely explained that while dealing with his burning back pains, he discovered a sharp point as he was rubbing the lump where doctors had stitched him up.
“My girlfriend got up and she started playing around with it and she manoeuvred my back in a certain way and the tip of a blade poked out of my skin,” he recalled.
Doctors removed the blade after arriving at the hospital. McNeely has since expressed his frustration that doctors did not order an X-ray immediately following the incident. He has reportedly considered filing a lawsuit.
