A new dissolvable stent can open clogged arteries and help them to repair themselves over time.
Alice Giedraitis of Scottsdale Healthcare said the scaffold can restore blood flow and give vessels support until clogged arteries can open themselves on their own.
This bio-resorbable stent could possibly replace use of metal drug eluting arterial implants with this new innovative medicinal technology. The investigational device is being evaluated in a clinical trial at Scottsdale Healthcare hospitals.
