PHOENIX — A man is still on the loose after stealing a necklace off of a woman at a Circle K gas station in Phoenix.

The suspect, described as a 20-year-old black male, approximately 5-foot-8-inches tall and 140 pounds, was waiting outside the store Jan. 19, 2015, around 9 a.m. when he grabbed the woman by her neck and stole her necklace.

The woman was not injured.

According to reports, the man was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and brown boots.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Derek Elmore said the man pulled up to the gas station at 1814 W. Grant Ave., and appeared to be talking on a cellphone.

“A guy wearing a gray hoodie pulled-up in a white Pontiac Grand Am, got out, but did not go in,” he said.

Officials believe the man was casing the area for a victim when he spotted the 59-year-old woman walking out of the store.
