This heist happened on New Year’s Eve 2012. It was near 44th street and Thomas Road at about 7:00 p.m.
“The suspect approached our victim at an ATM. He lifted his shirt to show a knife and a gun and forced the victim back into his car,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Darren Burch.
Then they went through the drive-thru ATM.
“I think the suspect was trying to conceal himself by going through the drive-thru but it didn’t work,” Burch said. “We still got good pictures of him.”

Our next victim is an 84-year-old clerk at Turf Paradise.
Sgt. Burch says the man had just picked up the cash he’d be distributing at his betting window.
“When the suspect approached and basically assaulted him so this is a strong-armed robbery. The suspect took a large sum of money and took-off”.
The suspect was caught on camera hanging out at the track before the robbery.
