PHOENIX – The temperature in Phoenix was a double-digit delight Wednesday for the first time in more than a month.

The mercury topped out at 98 degrees, ending a 41-day streak of temperatures of at least 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The streak fell well short of the record of 76 consecutive days of at least 100 set in 1993, the service said.

The last sub-100 day in Phoenix was July 31, when it “only” reached 97 degrees.

The low temperature Wednesday morning was 81 degrees.

But don’t break out those fall clothes just yet.

Another 100-plus streak is expected to start Thursday, and temperatures are forecast to reach triple digits at least through Sunday.

We want to hear from you.
