KTAR’s Main Street Minute focuses on local businesses that are hiring, opening and hosting events across the community. These stories air each weekday on KTAR at 7:27 a.m.

• The Arizona Diamondbacks will present a $100,000 Grand Slam Grant to the MLB All-Star Arizona Diamondbacks Boys & Girls Club during the team’s annual holiday party Monday evening. The money will be used to help renovate the gym at the facility, located about five miles from Chase Field.

• Scottsdale-based health-supplement seller Plexus Worldwide is giving back to kids in need. The company is donating $35,000 to the nonprofit Toys for Tots.

• About 160 thrillseekers rappelled down a Phoenix high rise to raise $1,000 for Special Olympics last weekend. Over the Edge participants paid to descend 27 stories along the glass exterior of downtown’s CityScape.
