Rental car goes up in flames when man tries to kill bed bugs

Strictly for future reference and environmental purposes, the best way to get rid of bed bugs is the exact opposite of what a man on Long Island, New York did earlier this week.

Scott Kemery accidentally blew up a car and damaged two others when his solution to be rid of the bed bugs in the car was to douse the interior with rubbing alcohol. He then lit a match so he could smoke a cigarette.

Science’s response was: boom.

Police said Kemery suffered first- and second-degree burns. The rental car was totaled.
