College student turns room into giant ball pit

Jan 23, 2015, 6:00 PM | Updated: 6:00 pm

Weren’t those colorful ball pits fun?

Restaurants, arcades, you name it, if the demographic was kids there was a ball pit to play in. They were everywhere before sanitary concerns rendered them nearly extinct.

However, a student at Rice University took matters into his own hands and turned his room into his very own ball pit. Who says you have to grow up?

David Nichol, a senior, imported a whopping 13,000 plastic balls from China and dumped them in his room.
According to the video’s description, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials inspected the 27 boxes the balls came in after finding the order odd. Turns out it was just a young adult trying to relive his youth.

Nichol has very specific rules when one enters his room because he does not wash the plastic balls — no shoes, no food and no urinating in his room.

Is this weird or is this awesome? You decide.
