Georgia sheriff cancels Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day won’t happen this year for a small community in northern Georgia.
In case you haven’t heard, the East Coast is again being pounded by snow and ice, making driving conditions extremely dangerous. Rather than having people (let’s be honest, it would be all guys) running out to buy roses and chocolates, the Oconee Sheriff’s Office canceled the holiday.
Since announcing the cancellation, the sheriff’s office has received all sorts of feedback on its Facebook page. Some of it has been good, some of it has been bad, but all of it has been fun to read.
I’d write more about this, but thanks to Arizona’s heatwave, I don’t have an excuse to not buy flowers and chocolate. Excuse me.
