Lake Havasu officials mull regulating use of drones

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) — Residents and officials around Lake Havasu City say there are no regulations in place to deal with the increased presence of personal drones in the area.
The Today’s News-Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1KvdglO) that the issue has come to light after an incident last week in which a man’s drone was damaged by a passer-by.
A California man threw a T-shirt low-flying, unmanned aerial drone in the Bridgewater Channel, claiming he was scared that the device was coming toward him.
Police cited the man for criminal damage.
Lake Havasu City Manager Charlie Cassens says the city is waiting for the Federal Aviation Administration to establish regulations they can use as a guide.
