Almost 100 animals seized from puppy mill north of Phoenix

WITTMANN, Ariz. — A Wittmann woman is accused of operating a puppy mill
after the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office seized nearly 100 animals from her
property.
Sheriff’s officials said 59-year-old Colleen Jolly is facing several animal
cruelty charges. She could be charged with more crimes.
MCSO’s Animal Crimes Unit served a search warrant on Jolly’s property Wednesday
morning after receiving a tip about terrible breeding conditions.
Most of the dogs were puppies and were housed in crates
and crude wooden structures at the home. Inside each box were multiple dogs reportedly living in their own waste, some
without food or water.
A 3-year-old child was also found in the home.
Jolly had an animal cruelty conviction in Oregon in 1994.
It’s unclear if Jolly has a lawyer yet.
Wittman is northwest of Phoenix.
