Phoenix Children’s Hospital is set to receive a big donation from a national sub sandwich chain that has a large Valley presence.

All of the Jersey Mike’s Subs locations in the Valley will be donating their March 25 sales to PCH, the restaurant’s website says. In Tucson, proceeds will go The University of Arizona Medical Center’s Diamond Children’s unit.

Prior to the franchise’s “Day of Giving” Wednesday, Jersey Mike’s customers in the Valley have been able to make a donation to PCH all month.

Last year’s “Month of Giving” fundraising campaign at Jersey Mike’s raised $2.1 million for more than 100 different charities nationwide. Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO Peter Cancro said the company hopes to raise more than $2.5 million this time around.

Jersey Mike’s was founded in 1956 and now boasts more than 1,300 locations in the U.S., including 21 in metro Phoenix and two in Tucson.

We want to hear from you.
