Scottsdale police officer fires weapon in parking lot, man taken to hospital

PHOENIX — A Scottsdale police officer fired his weapon in a grocery store parking lot Thursday afternoon.

A man at the scene was taken to the hospital by the fire department, a spokesman said.

The officer was uninjured in the incident at Hayden and Chaparral roads.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released, but police say he’s in stable
condition.

Authorities said he was wanted in connection with a credit card fraud ring and
had been under surveillance for days.
