PHOENIX — A Silver Alert was issued Saturday afternoon for a missing 78-year-old Mesa woman.

Mesa police said Judith Leslie last was heard from on Friday when she called her daughter in North Carolina and told the daughter that she was near McDowell Road and 40th Street in Phoenix. Police do not know what time Leslie said she was in that area. They said Leslie’s phone lost connection, and she hasn’t been heard from or seen since.

Update: Leslie was located by California authorities Sunday morning.

Leslie was last seen when she was contacted by Flagstaff police earlier in the day for a confused person. The woman said she didn’t want any help, and she was given directions back to Mesa.

The missing senior is 5-foot-10, white and 200 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. Police said she suffers from dementia and is not a social person. Leslie owns a silver 2010 Honda CRV with Arizona license plate WCEXZ15.

We want to hear from you.
