For the first time in Phoenix history, the Ultimate Fighting Championship will play out inside U.S. Airways Center on Saturday, Dec. 13th.
“Having the UFC come here is huge and it means a lot,” said Ryan “Darth” Bader, a top-10 contender. “We’ve always had the fighters, we’ve always had the talent and now that Phoenix is market for the UFC to come and bring something like a FOX card for the first time, it’s awesome.”
UFC Fight Night features several top fighters on the preliminary card, including former title contender John Moraga versus UFC newcomer Willie Gates.
Two of the top heavyweights in the world square off, headlining the sold-out event, former UFC heavyweight champion, Junior Dos Santos versus Ohio-native Stipe Miocic.
“There’s nothing like seeing a live UFC event. Do whatever you have to do to see this show,” said local fighter and former UFC lightweight champion Ben Henderson. “The atmosphere; the experience is unbelievable.”
