TEMPE, Ariz. — A Tempe man with special needs was found late Sunday morning after going missing for nearly two days.

Allen Guthrie, 40, was previously last seen in Tempe near Priest Drive and Ray Road around 4:40 p.m Friday. He left a note saying he was heading to a McDonald’s on Priest Drive, but he did not bring his phone, wallet or seizure medication with him.

He was unshaven and wearing a maroon and gold Arizona State University shirt, denim cargo shorts and size 15 New Balance shoes at the time. He also may have been riding a gray Beach Cruiser with the words “Big Style” on the frame, Tempe police said.

Guthrie was found to be safe and in good health at a Tempe church, Police Officer Gregory Duarte said.

The man had been without his seizure mediation for more than 24 hours and could have been at risk of sustaining a grand mal seizure as a result, police said.
