One killed and another seriously injured in possible shootout

PHOENIX — One man was killed and another was seriously injured in a shooting incident Sunday morning, according to Phoenix Police.

Authorities arrived at the scene, near 19th Avenue between Southern Avenue and Baseline Road, at about 1 a.m., responding to a call that shots were fired. They found the two men with gunshot wounds inside an SUV and one was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victims were likely involved in a shooting involving at least two other people. Authorities haven’t found any other injured victims.

Police said homicide detectives have been investigating the incident throughout the morning, but they have not yet identified the victims. They were both described as being Hispanic males.
