Gilbert tops website’s list of best cities for working parents

PHOENIX — Working parents in the Valley must be the envy of their counterparts all across the country. The town of Gilbert has been rated the top city in America for them, and four other Phoenix suburbs were among the top 15.
Personal-finance site nerdwallet and BusinessInsider compiled a list of 25 American cities where it’s great to be working parents. Besides Gilbert, two other Valley cities landed in the top 10 — Chandler came in third and Mesa was 10th.
Rounding out the metro Phoenix selections were Scottsdale (No. 11) and Glendale (No. 14).
Criteria included affordability in housing and child care and quality of schools.
