PHOENIX — An 8-week-old puppy is recovering in an animal shelter after witnesses said it was thrown out of a moving vehicle in Phoenix.
Witnesses took the dog to the Arizona Animal Welfare League & SPCA, a nonprofit organization that operates the state’s largest no-kill shelter.
Veterinarians said the black-and-white puppy had a broken leg and toes, and was placed in a cast.
Organization President Judith Gardner said the Medical Miracle Fund helps pay for some of the animals’ medical expenses.
