PHOENIX — A Valley man is among a dozen who were named finalists for a scholarship to a special effects makeup school.

Mitchell Brose was named among 12 finalists for the Cinema Makeup School’s Next Level of Cosplay Scholarship.

Brose’s entry, an original design of steampunk gentleman, is currently up for a public vote on Facebook. Voters will select their five favorites and a panel of judges will decide the winner out of that small pool.

The winner will receive a scholarship for more than $15,000 and a six-month paid internship at the school.
