Arizona gives nonprofits $1.3M in daylong fundraiser

PHOENIX — Arizonans gave more than $1 million dollars during the daylong Arizona Gives online charity fundraiser.
“Our state rallied again this year and demonstrated what tremendous power individual donors can have for our state’s nonprofit community,” Patrick McWhortor, president and CEO of the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits, said in a statement.
The 24-hour giving period April 9 raised $1,392,292 for just about 1,000 organizations.

The amount topped last year’s $1,019,650.
