PHOENIX — Ryan Naylor is seeing a 10-percent increase in the number of people attending job fairs this year.
“We found a lot of people in 2012 and 2013 took positions just to get employed,” says the founder and president of Localwork.com, a Phoenix-based company.
Naylor says many underemployed workers are looking for more challenging or full-time positions and they’ll find many jobs listed in the healthcare industry. “There were a lot of questions being asked during the Affordable Care Act, but now that those have been answered a lot of companies are feeling confident in hiring again.”
Naylor says registered nurses and medical assistants are in demand along with workers who have strong phone skills.
“This is a hotbed for customer service call center jobs and if you’re looking for work that’s a great place to get your feet wet and get some employment experience under your belt.”
Monday’s job fair runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. MST at Phoenix Airport Marriott located on 1101 N. 44th Street.
