Man uses drone to film Arizona dust storm

PHOENIX — A man on vacation in Arizona used his personal drone to film an unseasonably early dust storm that hit the Valley on Tuesday.
The video, posted to YouTube, shows the storm as it blows into Gilbert, Ariz., southeast of Phoenix.
The drone had a GoPro camera attached to it, enabling YouTuber Daniel Hurlbert to capture the footage.
Tuesday’s storm began about 3:30 p.m., when a large cloud of dust was spotted near Eloy, Ariz. It quickly blew northward and into the southern Valley about 4 p.m.
Arizona is no stranger to large dust storms or haboobs, though the NWS said Tuesday’s storm is unseasonably early.
“We usually don’t see this until the summer when you get those really big supercells,” meteorologist James Quinones added.
Windy conditions are expected to continue through Thursday as a small front moves through the state. Gusts could be as high as 40 mph Wednesday.
