PHOENIX — A Valley nonprofit received a big gift from Toyota on Tuesday that will help veterans and their families transition back into civilian life.
“For the past two-and-a-half years, we’ve been using an employee’s truck to help assist homeless veterans moving their belongings to their new homes, for transporting water in the summertime when we take water to the veterans,” said John Scott with United States Veterans Initiative.
The truck was donated by Camelback Toyota as part of Toyota’s annual 100 Cars for Good national program.
“There really is nothing more American than supporting veterans,” he said. “We’re are just so happy and so pleased that we’ve got this beautiful brand new Toyota Tundra truck, that we are going to get a lot of use of.”
