PHOENIX — Gov. Jan Brewer has vetoed SB 1062, but at least one local expert believes the fight is not over.
Shane Krauser, a constitutional attorney in Tempe, said he is disappointed with the outcome, adding that the governor’s veto is not the end, but rather the beginning.
“She’s vetoed a piece of legislation that had the ability to really execute a pre-emptive strike in favor of business owners who choose to act on their religious beliefs,” Krauser said.
Krauser also said that because there are bills akin to SB 1062 in five other states, it’s only a matter of time before a similar bill passes in Arizona.
