ADOT making progress on ramps near Glendale stadiums

Feb 14, 2014, 2:32 PM | Updated: 2:32 pm

PHOENIX — Good progress is being made on the construction of four freeway ramps near Glendale’s sports and entertainment districts, the Arizona Department of Transportation said Friday.

“This, of course, will improve access year-round at the Westgate City Center and Jobing.com Arena,” said Doug Nintzel with ADOT.

The ramps were also installed to improve access to University of Phoenix Stadium ahead of the upcoming Arizona Cardinals season and the 2015 Super Bowl.

The new ramps, once completed, will link the HOV lanes in both directions with the Maryland Avenue bridge.

Work began on the $11.7 million project in October and is expected to be completed sometime in the spring.
