5 cars collide in north Phoenix

The Phoenix Fire Department responded to a five car accident Saturday night in north Phoenix.

Fire crews arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. near State Route 51 and Cactus Road. Firefighters had to transport three of the five patients evaluated. One of the victims had to be extricated with hydraulic tools because of serious injuries.

The fire department said everyone treated in the crash was an adult, and that no children were injured in the accident.

Department of Public Safety workers were called to the scene to determine the cause of the accident.
