A Phoenix house fire late Wednesday night nearly resulted in the harming of five domestic pets, but a quick response from the Phoenix Fire Department changed things.
The fire, which occurred at 22nd Street and Roosevelt Rd. in Phoenix, didn’t affect the home’s occupants, who were out of the house when PFD Engine 11 arrived at the scene, just three minutes after the call came in.
Three of the pets — all dogs — were treated on scene by the crew on call, who gave them oxygen and wrapped them in blankets. All are still alive.
A crisis response team from the department is working with the occupants of the home to determine the cause of the fire, according to Captain Jonathan Jacobs.
