U.S. Marshals auctioning seized vehicles

Nov 22, 2013, 5:00 AM | Updated: 5:00 am

PHOENIX — The United States Marshals Service will be auctioning off numerous vehicles seized from criminals Saturday.

“Proceeds generated from asset sales are used to compensate victims of crime and innocent third parties, supplement funding for federal law enforcement initiatives and are often shared with state and local law enforcement partners to further public safety efforts in their respective communities,” said U.S. Marshal David Gonzalez. “In addition, sales proceeds provide a key component in funding law enforcement initiatives aimed directly at combating criminal activity such as organized crime and terrorism,” he added.

The auction will be held at Apple Towing, located at 5720 E. Mineral Road in Guadalupe. The auction begins at 9 a.m.

A preview day will be held Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
