Tickets to Tempe New Year’s Eve Block Party go on sale

Nov 11, 2013, 8:23 AM

TEMPE, Ariz. — Fall holidays have barely hit the calendar, but the City of Tempe is ready to get going with New Year’s Eve plans.

Tickets go on sale Monday for the East Valley city’s Dec. 31 downtown block party. Kris Baxter Ging, a spokeswoman for Tempe said the party, dubbed the “New New Years Eve” will include, “two massive dance floors at the biggest intersections on Mill (Avenue). We’ll have photo booths, bands, beer and champagne gardens. Radio Disney will have the Family Fun Zone.”

Not everyone can hold out until midnight so people with children can celebrate “9 Year’s Eve,” when fireworks will be set off. Another fireworks display will light up Tempe at midnight.

Partygoers can skip the worry of driving because there will be free light rail from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m.

Tickets are available at Circle K, various City of Tempe locations and online.
