Intruder killed inside Phoenix apartment, second suspect fled scene

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department responded to a call about a shooting taking place at the Autumn Ridge Apartments near 19th Avenue and Thunderbird Wednesday night.
Based on information obtained at the scene, Phoenix PD believe that two intruders entered one of the apartments and were confronted by a resident. The confrontation led to a shooting and one of the intruders was subsequently killed.
The second intruder fled the scene and has not been located at this time.
The resident of the apartment was not believed to be injured during the shooting.
