Phoenix Mayor Stanton to talk up business on trip to China

PHOENIX — Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and local business leader Barry Broome are in China this week to discuss business with global companies at a World Economic Forum event.

The annual Meeting of the New Champions, scheduled Sept. 11-13 in Dalian, China, about 1,500 participants from 90 countries will meet to exchange ideas.

Stanton will be among the panelists for “Strategic Shifts in Urban Ecosystems.” He is expected to focus on sustainability.

“Phoenix has come a long way with our sustainability efforts, and this ill provide an opportunity to showcase our accomplishments on a global platform,” he said in a statement.

Broome is president/CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
