Scottsdale named top Arizona eCity by Google

Aug 21, 2013, 2:36 PM | Updated: 2:37 pm

PHOENIX — Scottsdale has been named Arizona’s best eCity for 2013 by Google.

According to the city, Google chose Scottsdale because it had the strongest online business community.

Google said, “The businesses in these communities are embracing the web to find new customers, connect with existing clients and fuel their local economies. Scottsdale joins the ranks of America’s leading cities in the digital economy.”

Google named a top eCity in each state.

To determine the top cities, Google analyzed the online strength of small businesses in each city. This included the likelihood of a business to have a website, offer goods or services through that website and how accessible the business was online from mobile devices. Social media presence was also considered.
