PHOENIX — The school year may be starting, but the summer heat and the need to remember swimming pool safety is still present.
August is Drowning Impact Awareness Month and the city of Chandler is doing its part to emphasize water safety. For the next four Saturdays, it’s holding events at various city aquatics centers.
“It will rotate facilities starting with the Hamilton Aquatics center [Saturday],” said Tracey Tenkely, a spokeswoman for Chandler’s Aquatics Division. “We’ll have the fire department out to do hands-only CPR, we’ll have water safety games, information on our year-round swim lesson programs and just some general water safety information.”
The event runs from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. each Saturday. For more information, including locations, click here.
