PHOENIX — Joggers along the Central Avenue corridor were able to feel a little safer Wednesday after police arrested a suspected serial flasher.
Phoenix police arrested a man accused of flashing at least six women in the area. Michael Atkins, 25, is accused of exposing himself and grabbing one victim along Central Avenue between Northern Avenue and Thomas Road.
“That suspect has been under surveillance and we have been doing some follow-up work the past few days and have been able to link him to this series of about five or six different incidents,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump.
Atkins has told police he was involved. He faces six counts that include sexual indecent exposure, assault and harassment.
