Events for Fourth of July weekend

PHOENIX — Looking for something to do this Fourth of July weekend in the Valley? The list below offers a few options.

Tempe Town Lake Festival

Head to Tempe Town Lake for a night full of live music, a World War II plane flyover, food and fireworks. The event costs $5, but is free for those 12 and under. The fun starts at 5 p.m.

Brantley Gilbert

On July 3, country music star Brantley Gilbert headlines the Independence Day Music Festival at Salt River Fields. Tickets range from $20-40.

Arizona Diamondbacks

The D-backs return to Chase Field after a 10-game road swing on Friday, July 5. After the game against the Rockies, fans can stay for fireworks.

Star-Spangled $7 Salt River Tubing

If the hot temperatures are not doing it for you, head out to the Salt River to “stash and bag” litter for this Take Pride in America event going on July 4 – 7, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Independence Day with S.K.A.M. Artists at the W Hotel

If you want to party it up before the fireworks, Scottsdale is bringing DJs such as Samantha Ronson, Sid Vicious and others for an afternoon full of drinks, dance and some pool time. The event starts at 12 p.m.

All-American Rooftop BBQ

If you’re not a sport fan but still want to see the fireworks at Chase Field, head over to the Lustre Rooftop Garden. Enjoy a burger, a drink and music by DJ HartBreaks. The event starts at 7 p.m. on Friday and tickets are $20.

Fatboy Slim

The British producer and rapper will be in the state of Arizona for the first time on July 4 at 11 a.m. at the Maya Day + Nightclub in Scottsdale. Tickets are $30, $80 for VIP access.

Mayhem Festival

Metal heads, unite! Rob Zombie will be the front man show at this year’s Mayhem Festival. Mastodon, Children of Bodom, Job for a Cowboy, and many more will be headbanging as well. The event is July 5 and starts at 1 p.m. Tickets range from $30 to 80.

Earthquake at Stand Up Live!

Nathaniel Stroman will be in downtown Phoenix for hours and hours of laughs. Starting on July 5 and going all the way through July 7, you can catch him up at Stand Up Live! Tickets start at $22.

UFC 162 – Silva vs. Weidman

Why pay for pay-per-view when you can watch the UFC with your very own eyes? Talking Stick is hosting Anderson “The Spider” Silva as he defends his middleweight title against Chris Weidman. The event is taking place on July 6 and tickets are $10.
