Police: Man killed by police had stolen gun, truck

PHOENIX — A man who was killed in a shootout with police had stolen a truck hours prior and the handgun used in the shootout, police said Wednesday.
Jourdan Akili Wagner was killed and Glendale Police Officer Wes Zygmont was wounded in the shootout. A police K-9 called Ronin was killed.
Police said Wagner had car-jacked a truck near 8300 W. Coolidge about three hours prior to coming into contact with a Glendale police officer at a Circle K. When approached by the officer, Wagner fled on foot.
Police did not specify where the gun was stolen from.
Funeral arrangements for Ronin are still being made.
