Technology businesses from Silicon Valley may find themselves in Arizona.
Phoenix Business Journal reported that businesses from Silicon Valley have been speaking to Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and Greater Phoenix Economic Council CEO Barry Broome about moving to Arizona.
Broome started recruiting businesses from California after the recent tax increase on the wealthy.
“As these companies continue to grow faster after the recession, we want to partner with them and offer them the best city with the best work force in the country so we can be mutually successful,” Stanton said.
Stanton and Broome aren’t the only people recruiting businesses, as Texas has also been talking to California businesses, even recruiting The Campbell Soup Co., a 66-year-old Sacramento business, to close that facility and relocate to Paris, Texas.
