Walk for Water Safety to hit road across Arizona

PHOENIX — The weather is warming up and the water looks tempting.

Before diving in, lace right up and join the walk for water safety this weekend.

Arizona’s fire departments need help hanging plastic bags on thousands of front doors across the state Saturday. Inside the bags is information to help keep everyone safe around water.

For Cody Thompson, that message is personal. His son Brennan drowned in an Arizona canal in 2011.

Thompson told Raising Arizona Kids, “It’s avoidable.”
