AVONDALE, Ariz. — A big NASCAR weekend starts Friday at Phoenix International Raceway and history will be made as soon as the racers get the green flag.
“We kick off with the first ever NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series race,” said PIR spokeswoman Jennifer Jepson. “We continue on through the weekend with the Dollar General 200 race and then Sunday is our large cup race, the Subway Fresh Fit 500.”
Thousands are expected to head for the track this weekend, and Jepson has some tips for those headed there.
“If you look at the signs on the freeway, they will give you directions on which exit to take for the fastest routes to your parking lot,” she said. “If you’re looking for more information, feel free to call 511, and we will have a daily recording that is updated on the best routes to get in and out of the track.”
