Woman barricaded in Scottsdale home found dead

Feb 20, 2013, 12:06 PM | Updated: 2:53 pm

PHOENIX — A woman was found dead in a Scottsdale house after a standoff with police Wednesday.

A SWAT team found the body in a home near 74th Street and Shea Boulevard. Police were initially called to the scene Tuesday night for a fight between two adult women.

An older woman, the victim’s mother, left the house unharmed after police arrived. The other woman stayed behind, refusing to come out. Police left after several attempts to coax her outside.

Officers returned the next morning and tried again, unsuccessfully, to talk her from the house. Shortly before 1 p.m. they entered the home.

Neither woman has been identified and police have not determined the victim’s exact cause of death.

We want to hear from you.
