Smartphone app encourages relationship abuse

Jan 31, 2013, 7:14 AM | Updated: 7:14 am

For the woman who has wanted to smack her boyfriend in the head for his annoying behavior, well, there’s an app that goes a step or three further.

A new smartphone game geared towards women encourages players to abuse their boyfriends for petty mistakes.

“The Boyfriend Trainer” is a new app that allows iPhone or Android users to “teach their boyfriend a thing or two about being the perfect boyfriend.”

In the game, the player faces multiple challenges, such as choking your boyfriend with a whip for driving too fast or slapping him multiple times for looking at another girl.

Created by an India-based company, the game falls within Apple’s app store guideline. Apple only bans apps “that depict violence or abuse of children” and those “involving realistic depictions of weapons in such a way as to encourage illegal or reckless use of such weapons.”

We want to hear from you.
