Phoenix father shoots, kills intruder

PHOENIX — Police are investigating the shooting death of man who witnesses said was trying to break into a home and was shot by the homeowner.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning near 28th Avenue and West Acoma Drive, according to azfamily.com. The intruder had been spotted trying to break into other homes before he attempted to get into the last house through a bedroom window. The homeowner said it was his daughter’s room and that he thought the intruder was pulling a weapon upon discovery.
