A massive attic fire nearly destroyed a home near Thunderbird and State Route 51 on Wednesday.
Phoenix Fire Department Cpt. Scott McDonald said one firefighter was injured and hospitalized.
“He fell inside the fire wall,” he said. “He rolled his ankle.”
No one was home when the fire started. It is unclear what sparked the blaze.
