PHOENIX — Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Tuesday his office has joined a 24-state lawsuit to block President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 mandates for anyone in Head Start programs.

The suit, filed in Louisiana, alleges the Head Start Mandate that requires masks on toddlers and for all volunteers and staff in the program to be vaccinated by Jan. 31 has various violations and is beyond the executive branch’s authority, according to a press release.

It added the mandate “will cost jobs, programs and ultimately hurt children.”

The program gives resources to underserved families and children, such as diapers and early childhood education.

Joining Brnovich in his lawsuit are attorneys general from Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming, and West Virginia.

It’s the fourth lawsuit Brnovich’s office has filed against the Biden Administration’s COVID-19 vaccine mandates.
