ADOT unveils nerve center makeover

The Arizona Department of Transportation has unveiled its $2 million traffic operations center which should help drivers get from point A to point B more quickly across the state.
Part of the makeover includes almost 40 big screens that monitor almost 200 Valley freeway cameras, which will help drivers avoid congestion when the check azdot.gov.
“It’s really going to be close to information in real time for drivers so they can say for example, traffic is heavy around the Broadway curve I better do something different, maybe a different route,” said Doug Nintzel with ADOT.
Nintzel also said the new monitoring system will help emergency crews get to the scene of accidents faster.
