Seven tips to prepare children for school

When it comes to raising a child, parents not only have to provide for that child, but make sure their son or daughter is prepared to become an adult.
And as it turns out, the sooner parents start, the better.
“About 90 percent of a child’s brain develops before they enter kindergarten,” Liz Barker Alvarez from First Things First told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR’s Mac & Gaydos on Tuesday. “I think parents have always intuitively known that kids are sponges, but now actually neuroscience proves it. Children are learning when they’re born and the foundation for their success in school is actually being built between 0- and 5-years-old.”
