For families with a disabled child, the stereotypical childhood camping trip can be far too difficult to imagine.
That’s where Camp Soaring Eagle comes in. The Scottsdale-based charity gives sick kids the full camping experience.
The camp hosts special weekends for each illness, such as respiratory, blood disorders and cancer.
Since being founded in 2008, Camp Soaring Eagle has hosted more then 5,000 campers and expects about 1,700 this year.
The camp, which is affiliated with Cardon Children’s Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital, accepts online donations.
