Stoudemire fined for Twitter messages

NEW YORK - Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire was one of three NBA players fined on Sunday for violating NBA policies.

Stoudemire was fined $7,500 for the posting of messages on his Twitter account during a game which is in violation of NBA rules said NBA Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Stu Jackson.

On Wednesday, November 25, messages were posted on Stoudemire's Twitter account during the Suns 126-111 victory over Memphis in Phoenix.

Stoudemire posted a message on his Twitter account after the Memphis game claiming it was a friend who went into his account and posted the message during the game.

Tyson Chandler of the Charlotte Bobcats was also fined $7,500 for messages posted on his Twitter account during the Bobcats 116-81 win in Charlotte over the Raptors.

Boston Celtics' Rasheed Wallace was fined $30,000 for public criticism of the officials following the Celtics 116-103 win over Toronto on Friday, November 27 in Boston.
